“Modern and clean” was my first though, when I first looked at Ralph Lauren’s Manhattan apartment featured in October’s Elle Decor.
Angelo Donghia was commissioned to designed the Fifth Avenue duplex, and the result is a modern open space, chic and with simple lines. Love it!

“Moderno y limpio” fue lo que pensé, cuando vi por primera vez el apartamento de Ralph Lauren en Manhattan, publicado por la revista Elled Decor en su edición de Octubre 2010.
Angelo Donghia fue el encargado de diseñar el duplex en la Quinta Avenida de Nueva York, y el resultado es un espacio abierto moderno, chic y de lineas simples. Me encanta !

Vera Wang spring collection took the designer “out of her comfort zone”. The show was filled with volume pieces, draping, and elaborate constructions. I think Vera reinvents her fashion vision all the time and this presentation was a different step for the fashion designer.
It is refreshing to see designers take risks. And Vera is certainly one of them. Always reinventing her fashion vision and presenting new and creative proposals.

La colección de primavera 2011 de Vera Wang la llevo “fuera de su zona de confort”. La colección llena de piezas con volumen, drapeados y elaboradas construcciones, fue un paso diferente para la diseñadora de moda.
Creo que es refrescante cuando los diseñadores toman nuevos riesgos, Vera es uno de ellos, reinventado su visión sobre la moda y presentando nuevas y creativas propuestas.

With tons of glamour and elegance Carolina Herrera presented her spring 2011 collection in New York’s Fashion Week. Using asian motifs and patterns along the way, Herrera’s collection was super refined and beautiful. The pictures speak for themselves.
Con cantidad de glamour y elegancia Carolina Herrera presento su propuesta para la primavera 2011 en la Semana de la Moda en la cuidad de Nueva York. Usando motivos y estampados, la coleccíon estuvo super refinada y fabulosa. La fotos hablan por sí solas.

This week is all about fashion, our favorites designers are presenting their collections at New York’s Fashion Week. And Derek Lam is without a doubt one of them, his show was beautiful. The lines were simple and clean, with looser silhouttes, snake print chiffon gowns and neutral palette. Everything is chic and wearable. Just how we like it!

Esta semana es para la moda, nuestros diseñadores favoritos están presentando sus colecciones en La Semana de la Moda en la cuidad de Nueva York. Y Derek Lam es sin duda uno de ellos, su show fue muy chic. Con líneas y cortes simples y limpios, siluetas sueltas, estampados de pieles exóticas y una gama de colores bastante neutra. Todo muy chic y fácil de usar. Como nos gusta!

Relaxed bohemian chic, are the perfect words to describe Hollywood’s latest boutique hotel The Redbury. Celebrity photographer and video producer Mathew Rolston, was enlisted to develop and launch this hip project.
The eclectic decor of the 57 studios is cozy and different. They have a homey feel to them. Outfitted with quirky antiques from local LA flea markets, exotic fabrics with patterns like Suzani and Ikat, Persian rugs, english inspired wallpapers and prints etc, this hotel has unmatched style and charm!
Chic bohemio y relajado, son las palabras perfectas para describir el nuevo hotel boutique de Hollywood llamado The Redbury. El fotografo de celebridades y productor de videos Mathew Rolston, fue el encargado de desarrollar y lanzar este proyecto trendy.
La decoración ecléctica de los 57 estudios es acogedora y diferente. Ofrece la sensación de estar en casa. Equipados con peculiares antigüedades de mercadillos locales de Los Angeles, telas exóticas con estampados como Suzani y Ikat, alfombras persas, papel tapiz y grabados de inspiración inglesa etc, este hotel tiene un encanto y un estilo sin igual!

Yesterday I went to have dinner at my friends Cucú’s house here in Miami. I love her home, because it really exemplifies what Miami is all about. Her house decor is fun, creative and innovative. It has tons of color and a wonderful mix of pieces that she has bought all over the world. I remember looking at the amazing house of Doug Meyer, featured in June’s 2009 Metropolitan Home , the pictures reminded me a lot of the style and feeling of Cucu’s house. Just beautiful and colorful!
Love the mixture of color.

Ayer fuí a una cena en casa de mi amiga Cucu aquí en Miami. Me encanta su casa, porque verdaderamente personifica lo que es Miami. Su decoración es divertida, creativa y casual. Tiene cantidad de color y una mezcla de piezas que ha ido comprando alrededor del mundo. Me acorde de haber visto la increíble casa del diseñador Doug Meyer,publicada en Metropolitan Home en Junio del 2009, las fotos me acordaron mucho al estilo y ambiente de la casa de Cucu. Bellísimo y colorido !

Gwyneth Paltrow has always been a fashion style setter. She is sexy, sophisticated and with an elegant “edge” at the same time. She has gained the respect of the fashion industry by wearing fashion forward pieces and proving that her style sense is unique.
I personally think she always looks great as she always knows how to balance a look. There is never too much or too little. She is true to her style.

I have always loved the idea of using an ottoman as a coffee table. It is practical and looks great.
I am trying to decide if I want something simple and classic, or take the risk with something more contemporary.
Doing a little research I found some great ideas. Here they are.
Siempre me ha encantado la idea de usar un ottoman como mesa de centro. Es practico y se ve increíble.
Todavía no he decidido que estilo es el correcto. He estado tratando de descifrar si quiero algo mas simple y clásico, o tomar el riesgo con algo mas contemporáneo.
Investigando un poco encontré unas ideas, y escogí algunas fotos para ponerlas en el blog. Yo creo que estoy lista para decidirme!

The Restaurant and Bar Design Awards were announced in London a couple of weeks ago. The list of projects came from firms wanting to make an impact on arquitecture and design. 38 countries submitted their projects on different categories. All of them are innovative and different, it is hard to pick a favorite. Enjoy !

La lista de proyectos viene de firmas que quieren hacer un impacto en lo referente al diseño. 38 países introdujeron sus proyectos en las diferentes categorías. Because of its huge cult following the book Take Ivy is beign re-issued this month. In the early 60’s Kensuke Ischizu, the founder of a preppy clothing line in Japan, commissioned Japanese photographer Hayashida to visiti the eight Ivy League colleges, the mission: to capture every element of the clean-cut chic preppy style. The book was a huge success and the preppy style became quite a phenomenon among japonese young set.
In the last decades, the book had a huge following. Often called the preppy handbook, its rare editions sold top dollar on ebay. The english translation will be available this month and J.Crew will be selling 300 limited edition copies to be sold at selected J.Crew’s mens shops.
With the influence of TV shows and ad campaigns, the preppy style is making a strong comeback, and I can’t wait !!

Por su gran culto de seguidores el libro “Take Ivy” sera vuelto a publicar este mes. A comienzo de los años 60 Kensuke Ischizu, el fundador de una linea de ropa preppy en Japón, comisionó el fotografo Hayashida a que visitara a las ocho mejores universidades estadounidenses, la misión: capturar cada elemento del estilo limpio y clásico que llaman “preppy style”. El libro se convirtió en un gran éxito, y el estilo preppy se convirtió en un fenómeno entre los jóvenes del momento.
En la última decada el libro a tenido cantidad de seguidores. A menudo llamado el manual preppy, sus escasas ediciones se vendían costosísimas en ebay. La traducción al Ingles saldrá este mes de Agosto y la tienda J.Crew venderá 300 ediciones limitadas en algunas de sus tiendas para hombres.
Con la influencia de diferentes shows de televisión y campañas publicitarias, el estilo preppy esta retornando con fuerza, me encanta!
