pretty in pink

Oscar de la Renta’s collection could be describe with one word “chic”. Ultrafeminine dresses paraded one after the other down the runway. 50’s inspired coats, floral prints,  tons of pink pale hues and pastels, filled the catwalk with refined, sophisticated, ladylike looks.  Oscar never fails to give us glamour! Thanks Oscar !

La colección de Oscar de la Renta podría estar resumida en una sola palabra “chic”. Vestidos ultrafemeninos desfilarón unos tras otros por la pasarela. Abrigos inspirados en los años 50, estampados florales, y cantidad de tonos rosa claros, llenaron la pasarela con trajes refinados y sofisticados. Oscar nunca falla en darnos glamour! Gracias Oscar!

A fabulous coffee table book is being released by the Council of Fashion Designers of America and published by Assouline. “American Fashion Designers at Home” will feature the interior design of the best of american fashion designers.

Un fabuloso libro de mesa esta siendo publicado por el Consejo Americano de Diseñadores de Moda y publicado por Assouline.  En el libro titulado “American Fashion Designers at Home” aparece la decoración de los hogares de los mejores diseñadores de moda americanos.

The tables by Liana Yaroslavsky are just stunning. The Paris based designer creates plexiglass coffee tables filled with antique chandeliers. The effect is just spectacular.

Las mesas de Liana Yaroslavsky son imponentes. La diseñadora basada en paris crea mesas de plexiglass llenas de chandeliers antiguos. El efecto es espectacular.

When I saw the pictures of Proenza Schouler fashion show, their line of handbags caught my attention. I think they are cool, hip and classic at the time. Wanted!

the dynamic duo

Refine, is the right word to describe the majority of the pieces presented by the dynamic duo of Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough from Proenza Schouler, for their 2011 spring  collection. Silk tweed jackets, soft skirts, silk blouses and tons of bold and soft colors. Ladylike with an edge, I love this collection!

Refinada, es la palabra correcta para describir la mayoría de la piezas presentadas por el dinamico duo de Lazaro Hernandez y Jack McCollough de Proenza Schouler. Chaquetas de lana, faldas, blusas de seda y cantidad de colores, tanto en tonos fuertes como suaves. La imagen de mujer refinada con un toque distinto. Me encanto esta colección!

reinventing vera

Vera Wang spring collection took the designer “out of her comfort zone”. The show was filled with volume pieces, draping, and elaborate constructions. I think Vera reinvents her fashion vision all the time and this presentation was a different step for the fashion designer.

It is refreshing to see designers take risks. And Vera is certainly one of them. Always reinventing her fashion vision and presenting new and creative proposals.

La colección de primavera 2011 de Vera Wang la llevo “fuera de su zona de confort”. La colección llena de piezas con volumen, drapeados y elaboradas construcciones, fue un paso diferente para la diseñadora de moda.

Creo que es refrescante cuando los diseñadores toman nuevos riesgos, Vera es uno de ellos, reinventado su visión sobre la moda y presentando nuevas y creativas propuestas.

With tons of glamour and elegance Carolina Herrera presented her spring 2011 collection in New York’s Fashion Week. Using asian motifs and patterns along the way, Herrera’s collection  was super refined and beautiful. The pictures speak for themselves.

This week is all about fashion, our favorites designers are presenting their collections at New York’s Fashion Week. And Derek Lam is without a doubt one of them, his show was beautiful. The lines were simple and clean, with looser silhouttes, snake print chiffon gowns and neutral palette. Everything is chic and wearable. Just how we like it!

Esta semana es para la moda, nuestros diseñadores favoritos están presentando sus colecciones en La Semana de la Moda en la cuidad de Nueva York. Y Derek Lam es sin duda uno de ellos, su show fue muy chic. Con líneas y cortes simples y limpios, siluetas sueltas, estampados de pieles exóticas y una gama de colores bastante neutra. Todo muy chic y fácil de usar. Como nos gusta!

Today is the celebration of the biggest fashion fete. Taking place over more than 100 cities in the US and 16 countries. This one night special event is hosted by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Vogue and NY & Co. Models, celebrities and die hard fashionistas, go out tonight to “shop till you drop”. All in the name of fashion!

Hoy es la celebración de la gran fiesta de la moda. Celebrada en mas de 100 ciudades de los Estados Unidos y alrededor de 16 países. Este evento solo por hoy es patrocinado por el Consejo de Diseñadores de Moda Americanos, Vogue y  NY & Co. Modelos, famosos y fashionistas acérrimos, salen esta noche a “comprar hasta el cansancio”. Todo en nombre de la moda!

Launched by Kartell, the “Invisible” furniture collection by Tokujin Yoshioka, creates the feeling of seating in the air. Using a new technique an thickness of polycarbonate technology never before manufactured. Tables, benches, chairs and much more seem just floating in the air.

La coleccion de muebles “Invisibles” de Tokujin Yoshioka para Kartell, crea la sensacion de estar sentado en el aire.  Con el uso de nueva tecnica y grosor de polycarbonato nunca antes manufacturada. Mesas, bancos, sillas y muchos mas, parecen estar flotando.

falling for fall

Fall is arriving with a feminine charm. One of the strongest trend for this upcoming season is without a doubt, the ladylike look. Invest in the classic 60’s refine look, that I personally love.

Ladylike channels the chicness of Audrey Hepburn. Is all about a classic sophisticated vibe. And with the prop of fashion power houses like Dior, Prada, Vuitton, Dolce Gabbana, Lanvin, Hermes and Chanel  featuring the trend for this season…. Just think pretty and go!

El otoño llega con un toque femenino. Una de las tendencias mas fuertes para este otoño es sin duda, el look femenino o “ladylike”(propio de una señorita). Invierte en el clasico estilo de los años 60, que personalmente me encanta.

Este tendencia canaliza la imagen de Audrey Hepburn. Se trata de una onda clásica y sofisticada. Y con el apoyo de las grandes marcas de la moda como Dior, Prada, Dolce Gabbana, Lanvin, Hermes y Chanel esta tendencia es la tendencia del otoño.

A dear friend of mine, send me an article from 2008, featuring the “Hip Hop Crown Jewels”. The pieces below were feature in the auction sale by Phillips de Pury & Co, in 2008. Statement pieces from Missy Elliot, Notorious B.I.G, Tupac, 50 cents, Diddy, etc. were up for sale.

Hip Hop has conquer popular culture and it’s all about creating a larger than life and unique image, something that is reflected on each piece below. I think the pieces are visually stunning, cool  and fashion forward. Love them!

Una muy querida amiga, me envío un  artículo de año 2008, de la venta de las “Joyas Reales del Hip Hop” . Las piezas fotografiadas a continuación estuvieron en subasta por la casa Phillps de Pury & Co en el 2008. Joyas pertenecientes a Missy Elliot, Notorious B.I.G, Tupac, 50 Cents, Diddy, etc, estuvieron a la venta.

Hip Hop a conquistado la cultura popular y trata mas que todo, de crear una imagen ostentosa y única, algo que se ve reflejado en estas piezas. Pienso que las piezas son visualmente muy llamativas y cool. Me encantan!
