“Modern and clean” was my first though, when I first looked at Ralph Lauren’s Manhattan apartment featured in October’s Elle Decor.
Angelo Donghia was commissioned to designed the Fifth Avenue duplex, and the result is a modern open space, chic and with simple lines. Love it!

Angelo Donghia fue el encargado de diseñar el duplex en la Quinta Avenida de Nueva York, y el resultado es un espacio abierto moderno, chic y de lineas simples. Me encanta !

The department store Selfridges in London, has a new shoe gallery with more than 5,000 pairs of shoes from 12o brands, and a space of 35,000 sq ft. This new gallery is the biggest shoe department in the world. Just fab!
La tienda por departamentos Selfridges en Londres, tiene una tienda de zapatos con mas de 5,000 pares de zapatos de 120 marcas diferentes en un espacio de 35,000 pies cuadrados. Esta es la tienda mas grandes de zapatos del mundo. Fabuloso!

Yesterday I was hosting a dinner and I received a Crystal Head Vodka bottle as a gift. The bottle is unusual, designed by American landscape artist John Alexander, it is shaped as a skull. I thought it was different and cool at the same time.
Ayer tuve una cena y recibí una botella de Vodka de la marca Crystal Head como regalo. La botella es muy diferente e inusual, diseñada por John Alexander, tiene forma de calavera. Me pareció creativa y cool a la misma vez.

The first major exhibition in France by japanese artist Takashi Murakami is running until December 12th at the Palace of Versailles.
The contrast between the contemporary pop art style showcased by Murakami against the period ornate decor of the historic royal palace, is visually stunning.
Twenty two colorful manga inspired works are on display, and although not everyone is happy too see the controversial Murakami exhibit his work in this french landmark, I think no one can deny, the mix of styles is aesthetically very interesting.

La primera gran exhibición en Francia del artista japonés Takashi Murakami estará abierta hasta el 12 de Diciembre en el Palacio de Versailles.
El contraste de el estilo de arte pop propuesto por Murakami contra el periodo decorativo ornamentado del historico palacio real es visualmente impresionante.
22 llamativos trabajos inspirados en el estilo manga conforman esta muestra, y aunque no todos están contentos con ver al controversial Murakami exhibir su trabajo en un sitio con el calibre histórico de Versailles, creo que nadie puede negar, que la mezcla de estilos es estéticamente muy interesante.

Oscar de la Renta’s collection could be describe with one word “chic”. Ultrafeminine dresses paraded one after the other down the runway. 50’s inspired coats, floral prints, tons of pink pale hues and pastels, filled the catwalk with refined, sophisticated, ladylike looks. Oscar never fails to give us glamour! Thanks Oscar !
La colección de Oscar de la Renta podría estar resumida en una sola palabra “chic”. Vestidos ultrafemeninos desfilarón unos tras otros por la pasarela. Abrigos inspirados en los años 50, estampados florales, y cantidad de tonos rosa claros, llenaron la pasarela con trajes refinados y sofisticados. Oscar nunca falla en darnos glamour! Gracias Oscar!

A fabulous coffee table book is being released by the Council of Fashion Designers of America and published by Assouline. “American Fashion Designers at Home” will feature the interior design of the best of american fashion designers.

Refine, is the right word to describe the majority of the pieces presented by the dynamic duo of Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough from Proenza Schouler, for their 2011 spring collection. Silk tweed jackets, soft skirts, silk blouses and tons of bold and soft colors. Ladylike with an edge, I love this collection!

Vera Wang spring collection took the designer “out of her comfort zone”. The show was filled with volume pieces, draping, and elaborate constructions. I think Vera reinvents her fashion vision all the time and this presentation was a different step for the fashion designer.
It is refreshing to see designers take risks. And Vera is certainly one of them. Always reinventing her fashion vision and presenting new and creative proposals.

La colección de primavera 2011 de Vera Wang la llevo “fuera de su zona de confort”. La colección llena de piezas con volumen, drapeados y elaboradas construcciones, fue un paso diferente para la diseñadora de moda.

At his Madison Avenue Boutique in New York city, Oscar de la Renta celebrated Fashion’s Night Out, the right way. The uber chic fashion evening was filled with fashion, music and dance. Honoring his latin roots the fashion designer celebrated with merengue music from Pochy y su Cocoband, a band from his native Dominican Republic. By looking at the pictures ……latin chic at its best!
En su boutique de Madison Avenue en la cuidad de Nueva York, Oscar de la Renta celebro el Fashion’s Night Out de la manera correcta. La noche muy chic estuvo llena de moda, musica, y baile. Honrando sus raíces latinas el diseñador de moda celebro con musica merengue de la banda Pochy y su Cocoband, de su nativa Republica Dominicana. Y viendo por las fotos ….esta fue una noche muy latin chic!

Garden of Eden was the inspiration for Monique Lhuillier fashion show in New York’s Fashion Week. I love her delicate cherry blossom print dresses, with soft details. Evening gowns will always be Monique’s forte. I think her gowns are so lavish and feminine. Red carpet get ready!

The lines were simple and clean, with looser silhouttes, snake print chiffon gowns and neutral palette. Everything is chic and wearable. Just how we like it!

Autumn is almost here, but the runway at New York Fashion Week is all about spring.
One of fashion’s favorite designer, Jason Wu, presented his collection for spring 2011. I love his short suits, bow blouses and ruffle dresses with patterns and bold colors. Inspired by Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes, his outtake on old modern glamour is fabulous. Something to look forward next spring!!
El otoño ya casi llega, pero en la Semana de la Moda en la cuidad de Nueva York es todo primavera.
Uno de los consentidos de la moda es el diseñador Jason Wu, quien presento su propuesta para la primavera 2011. Me encantan su trajes de shorts, camisas con lazos, y vestidos con vuelos en estampados y colores llamativos. Inspirado por la artista Brasilera Beatriz Milhazes, su punto de vista acerca del viejo glamour es fabuloso. Algo que esperaremos para la próxima primavera!
